Unilever CGI Boardroom
Early development
The climactic boardroom scene, created using Cinema 4D and rendered with Octane, was the centerpiece of this project. Drawing inspiration from the magical animated paintings in the Harry Potter films, the scene seamlessly blended real-world corporate aesthetics with engaging CGI, all within a modest budget.
The design of the boardroom struck a balance between the grandeur of Unilever's master boardroom at their headquarters and the more intimate feel of a smaller meeting space in their London office.
SKC’s expert use of Cinema 4D allowed for intricate detailing of the environment, while Octane’s rendering capabilities brought the scene to life with photorealistic textures and lighting, contributing to the immersive quality of the film.
In this climactic moment, the animated portraits and visual elements served as both a homage to Unilever's legacy and a symbolic representation of the company’s future under new leadership. This inventive and elegant use of CGI helped elevate the narrative, turning the boardroom into a dynamic space that bridged tradition and forward-thinking innovation.
In a playful twist, the use of AI was used to bring Unilever's founder, Lord Leverhulme, to life as a surprisingly skilled co-star. Interacting with CEOs Alan Jope and Hein Schumacher, the digital Leverhulme delivered his lines so well he outshone the human actors, prompting jokes that he’d missed his calling in Hollywood. This humorous touch perfectly blended Unilever’s heritage with modern innovation.
